In my early days of driving solo, the idea of tackling the highway in the evening was terribly daunting, but one night, I had no choice. Passing through Hartford, I neared the 91 North interchange ramp with the level of trepidation usually reserved for feature rollercoasters. How would I ever navigate this fast/slow, sharply curved, crossover-loopdee-doo suspended in mid-air? Tightly gripping my wheel, I followed the other drivers in a gut-wrenching leap of faith-...-and then-- I found myself floating in mid-air, face to face with the very man in the Moon himself...! Of course, I wasn't actually, but in that awe-filled second, I felt as if I had risen up to my own private balcony from which to be serenaded... ...I then safely maneuvered down the ramp and merged with traffic. Now, this route is old hat, but every time I ride up into that periwinkle sky, I take a glance, for perchance my Romeo is waiting there once more.

I thought it fitting to post a shot I took of the incredible Supermoon Eclipse, a total eclipse "Blood Moon" on September 27th. I have seen some amazing telescopic versions but the event was so intense that pictures can only hint at the awe of the moment.
That being said, I do try my best to capture the comforting majesty of the moon in my art. It is a magical companion on a dark night, a spotlight on the decorative pagentry of evening. Please cozy up and enjoy my tribute to autumn and moonlight in the new Harvest Moon collection. http://www.efgrace.com/the-harvest-moon-collection.html |
