Magic in Every Moment! The Oxford Dictionary defines mindfulness as: "a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting ones feeling, thoughts, and bodily sensations used as a therapeutic technique." Is that really necessary? Well, why not? If we acknowledge the need for physical exams, performance reviews, even spring cleaning...why don't we make it just as important to check in with our inner selves? The good news is you can start all by yourself. Right now. No special tools needed. You won't even have to wrestle with the real or imagined stigma of justifying it to someone. Just pause. Breathe. Experience what your mind and body have been trying to tell you. Maybe in that moment is a pain that you are finally ready to heal. Maybe a solution suddenly appears that needed silence to be realized. Maybe the peace you have been looking for was just inside that secret door of your mind. There is magic in every moment--it's up to you to let it be revealed. |
