By the year 2055, world society is once again flourishing.
Though much of the Earth still lies in waste after The Devastations, humanity has refused to give up life as we knew it...even if that privilege involves enlisting the help of an alien race. The Meridians’ technology allows humans to accelerate the Reconstruction, bringing a sense of normalcy, and even luxury, back to habitable zones. In return, the plasma-based nomads are allowed to visit as they please, experiencing life on Earth through temporary artificial bodies. To some, the symbiosis seems a work of perfection. But what happens when "having it all" is still not enough?
Sheltered young Eve Miller faces that question on a daily basis. Though her ambitious husband D’Kar climbs the career ladder at Trychton Technologies, Eve crumbles under the crushing depression of their failing marriage. Craving relief , she leaves her broken city and escapes to the unspoiled farmlands of her family's ranch. As she wrestles with love, temptation, and "the real world", Eve begins to learn that things are not always what they seem, including herself. She struggles to find her own path, discovering that she just may the key to saving her people from their own destruction.
